Agniveer is a transformative recruitment scheme introduced by the Indian Government for enrolling young individuals into the Indian Armed Forces — Army, Navy, and Air Force — for a four-year tenure. Computer-based objective test of 100 marks covering Mathematics (50 marks), General Knowledge (25 marks), and Reasoning (25 marks). Duration: 60 minutes. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
1.6 km run to be completed within stipulated time, followed by push-ups, sit-ups, and chin-ups as per age-group standards. Qualifying in nature.
Thorough medical check-up covering vision, hearing, dental, cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems. Candidates must meet the medical standards prescribed by the respective service.

Agniveer is a recruitment scheme for the Indian Armed Forces where candidates serve for 4 years. After 4 years, 25% are enrolled in regular service based on merit, and the rest receive a Seva Nidhi package of approximately Rs. 11.71 lakh as a tax-free lump sum to pursue further education or employment.
The age limit is 17.5 to 21 years. Candidates must be born between specific dates as mentioned in the official notification. There are no age relaxations for any category.
Minimum height is 152 cm for general candidates (relaxation for certain regions like Gorkhas and North-Eastern states). Chest must have minimum expansion of 5 cm. Weight should be proportionate to height. Candidates must also pass the 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, and chin-ups as per age-group standards.
Agniveers receive a monthly salary package starting at Rs. 30,000 per month in the first year, going up to Rs. 40,000 in the fourth year. In addition, they get risk & hardship allowances, ration, uniform, medical facilities, and a Seva Nidhi package of about Rs. 11.71 lakh at the end of 4 years.
Agniveers undergo rigorous 6-month military training covering weapons handling, drill, physical fitness, discipline, and trade-specific skills. The training is conducted at various regimental centres and training establishments across India.
