RRB Group D is a recruitment exam conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board for filling various Level 1 posts in Indian Railways including Track Maintainer, Helper, Pointsman, Porter, Safaiwala, and other entry-level positions. 100 multiple-choice questions of 100 marks covering Mathematics (25 Qs), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs), General Science (25 Qs), and General Awareness & Current Affairs (25 Qs). Duration: 90 minutes. Negative marking of 1/3rd mark per wrong answer.
Male candidates: Must lift and carry a weight of 35 kg for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes without putting the weight down. Female candidates: Must lift and carry 20 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes. Additional running test may be conducted at the discretion of the board.

Minimum Class 10 (Matriculation) pass from a recognized board is the basic qualification. ITI certificate holders and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) holders are also eligible.
Group D salary ranges from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month (Pay Level 1) plus allowances including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Transport Allowance. Total in-hand salary is approximately Rs. 25,000-30,000 per month.
Male candidates must lift and carry 35 kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes without putting it down. Female candidates lift 20 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes. Some zones also conduct a running test of 1 km.
Group D includes Level 1 posts such as Track Maintainer, Helper, Pointsman, Gangman, Porter, Safaiwala, and other similar positions across various railway departments.
